The arid landscape lies lonely, bare
The wind tangles salt into my hair Sunlight blinks off jagged crystals
Biting cold wind that numbs and lulls
Naked whiteness as far as the eye can see
I sit in the midst, alone, not lonely
Blankness without, thoughts tumble within
Spilling out on to the empty canvas
That stretches without end, where does it begin?
There are no answers, this is all there is.
I walk away, it's fading already
Sights and sounds of the world return
The taste of salt on my lips a memory
Of the unearthliness of the white Rann
The wind tangles salt into my hair Sunlight blinks off jagged crystals
Biting cold wind that numbs and lulls
Naked whiteness as far as the eye can see
I sit in the midst, alone, not lonely
Blankness without, thoughts tumble within
Spilling out on to the empty canvas
That stretches without end, where does it begin?
There are no answers, this is all there is.
I walk away, it's fading already
Sights and sounds of the world return
The taste of salt on my lips a memory
Of the unearthliness of the white Rann
